Emergency Preparedness UK
The United Kingdom volume. Built on the National Risk Register 2026, Ofgem's Guaranteed Standards and the Water Resources Act 1991, because those are the rules that actually govern a British household.
Preparedness, sourced
Skavinger does two things. We publish household preparedness references written for one country at a time, where every legal, safety and infrastructure claim traces to a named primary source and carries the date it was checked. And we build WORLDVIEW, a live globe that shows you what is moving overhead right now.
The books
Preparedness advice does not travel. The volume of water a government tells you to store, the number you dial when the power fails, what you are owed when supply fails, and what you may lawfully keep in the house are different in every country. A book that averaged them would be wrong for most of its readers.

Single jurisdiction, Atlantic weather, an entirely separate legal and utility regime from Britain. In research.
One jurisdiction, unusually strong civil defence culture, and a risk profile no British book covers. In research.
The app
Real-time satellite tracking, global flight radar, seismic monitoring and tactical overlays on a photorealistic 3D globe. Over 4,000 tracked objects. Free to try, no account needed for the demo.
The shop
A short, opinionated list rather than a catalogue. Most preparedness shopping is wasted on the wrong things, and the most useful items in our own books cost very little.
How we work
Our manuscripts are checked by build gates that fail on a factual sentence with no citation, a source last checked over 12 months ago, an American source or spelling in a British book, an item that is lawful elsewhere and prohibited here, or an instruction beyond ordinary household competence. Then a separate reader tries to disprove every chapter. The full source register is printed in the back of each book.
